Kristin and I had the fun of attending TWO concerts this week!
First, there was Sister Sparrow and the Dirty Birds at the 8×10 in Baltimore. Sister Sparrow has an amazingly powerful voice, and her brother plays the most impressive harmonica I’ve ever heard. Check out his huge assortment of harmonicas!
The rest of the band was excellent as well, and I loved that there was a horn section. Thank you to friends Rink & Davy for the wonderful evening!
Next up, last night we went to Vienna, Virginia, to see Paul & Storm at the Jammin’ Java. My gosh, are they funny! And as an added bonus, members of their former a capella group (Da Vinci’s Notebook), Bernie Muller-Thym and Richard Hsu, were there and took the stage for one song from the old days.
This was also my first chance to meet many of the “Sea Monkeys” that we will be traveling with in a week and a half on the JoCo Cruise, including Paul and Storm themselves, who are headliners on the ship!
I also experienced my fifteen minutes of fame last night. The couple we sat next to recognized me from Andy’s recent post! It was very nice to meet them and I look forward to seeing them at another event somewhere soon. 🙂
I know this post is getting a little long, but I just had to show you two other fun things from the first concert at the 8×10. First, a band poster that teaches you how to tie dye! 🙂 (Of course, Kristin wants to go see them in concert!)
And lastly, this was on the bathroom door. I had to post it. Tirade insisted. 😉
